Development and design

A turreted 105 mm rifled gun and modern fire-control system are mounted on the wheeled chassis, giving the vehicle more reach and destructive effect than the IFV while retaining common mobility and logistics characteristics with the family. 1, 2

Operational use

The ZTL-11 serves with People’s Liberation Army Ground Force and marine formations for infantry support, rapid reaction, and engagement of armored or fortified targets. It is not organized or protected as a conventional main battle tank. 1, 2

Role and significance

The vehicle is another strong cross-type case for the archive: ZBL-08 and ZTL-11 share a family architecture, yet one is an infantry fighting vehicle and the other a dedicated direct-fire assault gun. 1, 2
