Development and design
The K9 combines a 52-calibre 155 mm gun, armored tracked mobility, digital fire control, and rapid displacement. The companion K10 ammunition resupply vehicle shares the chassis, while later K9A1/A2 development increases automation. 1, 2
Operational use
K9 variants and derivatives have been selected by numerous armies across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. The design also became the technical foundation for national systems such as Turkey’s Fırtına and Poland’s Krab chassis solution. 1, 2
Role and significance
The K9 family is a central modern lineage in the archive because one Korean platform has generated multiple national derivatives while continuing to evolve through its own modernization path. 1, 2
